Song of the Day: “I Can Change” by LCD Soundsystem

Posting this in honor of LCD Soundsystem’s weekend announcement that they’ll be playing their “final show” at MSG on April 2nd:

This is easily one of my favorite tracks from 2010. In fact, it might even get the top-most slot due to the memory that it’s permanently connected to in my head.

Here’s hoping I can score some decent tickets to this show.

Song of the Day: “Hung Up On My Baby” by Isaac Hayes

Some classic 70s soul-funk for your Friday.

This one is probably most famous for being sampled in the Geto Boys tune “My Minds Playing Tricks on Me,” which is most likely why this song caught my ear.

That actually happens to me a lot with old school hip-hop tunes. I seek out the songs they sample and end up enjoying those even more than the tunes they’re sampled in. Might have to post a few more of those later.
