The band Yellow Ostrich popped up during a meeting today, so I’ve been digging into their album on bandcamp a bit.
Pretty interesting stuff…especially the use of looping vocals.

Some classic 70s soul-funk for your Friday.
This one is probably most famous for being sampled in the Geto Boys tune “My Minds Playing Tricks on Me,” which is most likely why this song caught my ear.
That actually happens to me a lot with old school hip-hop tunes. I seek out the songs they sample and end up enjoying those even more than the tunes they’re sampled in. Might have to post a few more of those later.
