I have been trying to work more wave shapes into the mix. I put this together and labeled it “whale call”, then changed it to “whale text”, then decided on “whale code.” I really like this one for some reason.

One my favorite creations so far is this odd mix of blues and greys which I call “glocean” for some reason:
I started really digging the plant and tech themes, so I made this odd creation:
And, yes for the Phish fans, this is a subtle reference to the “Rich in minerals, Rich in firth” line from “Kung” (which I always heard as “vearth”). I mean, why the hell not, right?
I decided to play around with the gradients from the “moon” shapes I created and add a little more “flare.” I really like the way this came out:
I started toying with the idea of offering some of these designs as printable products and threw together a quick storefront for them. Grab your copy of “rhombulus v1” while supplies last. ha!
Continuing the series of mixing greys with bold colors.
one thing I started adding in the orange series were some more “organic” elements (like feathers and plants) which I really like when combined with more technological objects. Lots more like this to follow in future pieces….
and one more:
I started playing around with some color gradients and made a few “moon” shapes that I thought came out well. I posted a bunch of variations below with the purples and blues being my favorites:

I created a way to buy this one here.

Some variations of above that I really liked:
More digital art. I decided to go with the name “Autonomous Prime” as it’s the first thing that came to mind with the primary colors.
Autonomous Prime I
Autonomous Prime II
Autonomous Prime III
Autonomous Prime III, v2; I like this one much better:
Some more random digital artwork in the same vein as “the grey and the green” featured here.
I’ve long been a visual person and have thought about doing more art for quite some time. I’ve been using a few design tools like Figma and Canva for mock-ups for work and finally decided to try my hand at some odd creations.
Below are a few of my first attempts at a concept using some of my favorite colors (green and grey). I think they came out nicely:
I’ve been a fan of Bibio ever since I hear “À Toute Allure” back in 2013 (?). The guitar hook on that track just hit me in the eardrums and grabbed me. I am a big fan of jangly, reverb-drenched yet clean guitar tones and this one was just perfection to my ears. Once the drums and synths kicked in, I was hooked. I could not stop listening to that track.
So when I saw that Bibio’s latest album, BIB10, dropped I knew I needed to check it out. I’ve listened all the way through and the 3rd track “Sharratt” is definitely my favorite. See above RE guitar tones and you’ll see why:
The delay effect on the main guitar riff is what stands out here. I played this in the car the other day and my son was immediately into it. It gave me a great excuse to talk about guitar effects, specifically delay pedals, and how he can listen for this on other tracks he likes (my immediate example was the Edge’s signature guitar tone on U2’s the Joshua Tree, which he knows very well).
I loved this track and decided it was a good excuse to put together some of my favorite Bibio tracks and make a quick playlist:
